New Years Eve at The Black Swan!
Our New Years Eve Package is designed to suit your every need, on arrival relax in our bar with our coal fire & cosy festive decorations whilst enjoying a drink on the house! Indulge in a fantastic 4 Course Evening Meal using the very best of Cumbrian Produce & Ingredients, enjoying canapes & bubbly on at your table while you browse our menu.
Then let the Party Begin! A disco will be held in our bar area, leaving the restaurant nice & peaceful for those you prefer a quiet start to the year!... Off to Bed & up for Brunch, served from 11am-1pm.
One Night Package - £200.00 per couple
Two Night Package, all of the above, plus a Two Course Evening Meal on the second night & Breakfast the following day - £275.00 per couple, a saving of £60.00!
Terms & Conditions of Reservations...
At the Black Swan we ask for a 50% deposit when reserving accommodation, this is a non-refundable deposit which in some cases may be transferable to another date within a month of your original reservation. If a cancelation is not made to us with more than 48 hours notice then the full amount of your stay will be payable to us. Please let us know if you can not make your reservation as we will do everything we can to accommodate you at the next most appropriate time, thank you.

I've never done this before, but there's a first time for everything, so here goes and I shall keep it brief. We and our friends stayed and dined with you for New Years Eve. And I would like to say what a wonderful time we all had.
No I'm not being sarcastic - I mean it.
We felt that the accommodation was an excellent standard for "a pub", and better than many supposedly superior hotels we've stayed in. But the accommodation was not the highlight of our stay nor the main reason for this email.
The dining experience was exceptional, the meal was in my opinion one of the best restaurant meals I've ever had.
Often when I dine out I might have one or two good courses, but if one course disappoints it can let the whole meal down. However on this occasion I found that every course was of exceptional standard. My companions all agreed and we were all tasting each others food so none of us missed out on any small delight.

And in addition to the food, the staff were magnificent, from the management down everyone was extremely pleasant, polite, attentive and efficient. Thank you all, for making our New Year Evening a memorable one.
The world is a huge place and there is plenty to see and do, so we rarely visit anywhere twice, but the Black Swan is now on a very short list of exceptions. We hope to see you again.

I particularly enjoyed that fact that I was aware of the use of local produce in each dish served to us.
The fact that it is homemade also speaks for itself the fresh taste in the dishes jumped out at me - something that is very rare in the eateries in the area, usually you are left with frozen chips & a pathetic slither of meat that people have the cheek to call a steak, but I must say it is the best steak I have eaten - fantastic, thick juicy sirloin. There was even a list of farms on the blackboard so you knew where the beef came from. Personally I think they have the food just right here, a great mixture to suit most tastes.
Service was very good & efficient but perhaps the some of the staff could be a little more friendly! The lady in charge of front of house could not of been more helpful, the perfect host.

What a great little find. Great service, wonderful food and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to escape from Center Parks for a few hours.

I loved my two night break at the Black Swan! I was taken there for my birthday by my husband on the Intermate Getaway deal that they run. We had Champagne & handmade Chocolate in our room on arrival & our evening meal on both nights was fantastic! The Best Steak we have ever had! The Sea Bass dish was also really good as were the homemade desserts. It was great sitting in the bar by the log fire & just being able to chill out! Thanks for a great weekend

After hearing the glowing reports about this pub i thought I'd give it a go so booked a table last saturday 28th June. I must say I really enjoyed it although it was very busy the standard of food was excellent.
I had the Grilled Anchovies with Fresh Rocket & Parmesan for my starter & my partner enjoyed the Homemade Chicken Liver Pate which was very tasty. We then had the Duck Breast with a Blueberry Jus & a Fantastic Sirloin Steak which they hang there at the pub for at least 30days, we couldn't resist trying it once we'd read the description! The homemade chips with the Sirloin were the best Id tasted!
Couldn't manage a dessert each so as instructed by the previous person that recommended the Black Swan we had a Lemon Tart between us and it was lovely.
They are starting a Smoke House but unfortunately did not have anything ready for the specials board on saturday - I was told they were smoking things this week so I might be back to give it a go.
The Staff were very attentive, the two young ladies in the restaurant although very busy made sure everything was just right & the young lady hosting was very friendly and had everything under control.
A lovely hassle free meal in smart, clean surroundings!
